3 Top Tips for Neurodivergent Recruiters

"Hi, my name’s Kye, and I’m a talent acquisition professional with over five years of experience recruiting across the UK, US, and Germany. I’m autistic and have ADHD, which means part of my brain loves routine and structure like a librarian, while another part is like a curious squirrel chasing new ideas constantly. When those sides clash, it can get overwhelming."

That’s why I created this video sharing three practical tips to help neurodivergent recruiters work smarter, not harder.

Tip #1: Use Transcribing Tools for Interviews

One of the biggest challenges in recruitment is keeping up with all the details while staying fully present in conversations. Tools like Metaview can automatically capture notes, allowing you to revisit interviews and generate summaries or insights using AI. This means you can focus on engaging with candidates in the moment without worrying about missing key points.

Tip #2: Schedule Regular Breaks

Recruitment is intense — back-to-back calls, meetings, and hundreds of CVs can quickly become overwhelming. Short, intentional breaks help prevent burnout and maintain focus. Step away from your desk, stretch, breathe, or just reset your mind.

It’s also crucial to schedule thinking time during the week. Use this time not for CVs or meetings, but for reflection: what went well, what could improve, and where new ideas could emerge. This inspires innovation and keeps your brain fresh.

Tip #3: Use Smart Tools and Structure Your Day

Combining AI tools, structured routines, and scheduled breaks can help you manage overwhelm and work more efficiently. Neurodivergence is broad and diverse, so not every tip works for everyone, but these strategies have helped me stay productive while managing my unique brain wiring.
